Golfing During Covid!

The Virden Wellview Golf Club values the well-being of our staff and customers.  We want you to know that your health and safety will remain our top priority.  The Virden Wellview Golf Club is following the lead of public health authorities and is strictly adhering to the protocols/guidelines that have been set out.

Here are the steps we are taking:

Clubhouse

  • closure of all inside and outside dining services until the current restrictions ease

  • Golf Course food and beverage operations are directed by the current restaurant and licensed premises guidelines.

  • Pro Shop operations are directed by the current retail guidelines.

  • Increased cleanliness of our facility especially in high traffic areas.

  • Notices throughout our facility for customers and employees to use caution and practice best hygiene methods to prevent the spread of the virus.

  • Increased number of hand sanitizer stations throughout the clubhouse.

  • Limit the amount of customers to 10 or less in the clubhouse at all times.

  • Ensure beverage carts and rental carts are cleaned and sanitized before reuse; sanitize all touch-points of both employee and customer.

Golf Operations

  • Must have a pre-booked tee time.  No walk-ons.  Tee times will be spread 10 minutes apart to increase social distancing protocols.

  • Customers will be screened when booking tee times to see if any members of their group have been feeling ill or have travelled out of the province.

  • Limit the amount of time a golfer may arrive at the course prior to their tee time- suggested 15 minutes prior.

  • Maximum of 4 golfers per group.

  • Encourage golfers and staff to refrain from handshakes or any other contact.

  • Removal of bulk scorecards and pencils.  Only issued when requested.

  • Removal of bunker rakes.

  • Removal of ball washers.

  • Direct golfers to leave the pin in the cup at all times.

Workplace Safety

  • Educate staff to recognize the symptoms of COVID-19 in each other and customers.

  • Establish a communication plan to keep all employees informed and updated on issues facing the workplace.

  • Ensure proper signage is present throughout the facility.

  • Provide necessary sanitation supplies and personal protective equipment.

  • Ensure hand washing signage is present at all wash stations.

Failure to follow these guidelines will result in the loss of playing privileges.  We thank everyone for their understanding and look forward to having a great 2021 golf season.
